About

Welcome!

Hi, I’m Ms. PFF!

I’m a therapist in private practice with 15 years of experience, sharing about my journey to FI/RE (financial independence, retire early).

This blog details my path to greater financial freedom tailored to the needs and realities of my fellow self-employed folks. I’ve met so many great people in the FI/RE community (shoutout to my local ChooseFI group!) but what can be hard to find is other folks in the therapy/counseling/social services space who GET IT. Our field tends to be underpaid with crazy levels of burnout. So many of us are drawn to this work for personal reasons and deeply committed to helping others, yet this very passion can lead to putting ourselves last.

Private practice can be amazing in so many ways: working on the schedule that’s right for you, with the clients you’re passionate about serving, and working in the way that feels right. But it also means having to provide for yourself completely: none of those perks corporate employees take for granted like PTO, sick leave, health insurance, and a 401k.
